Reiki is a gentle energy practice of Japanese origin that aims to channel universal life energy (Rei-Ki) through hand placement to rebalance the body's energy system, promote deep relaxation and support the organism's natural self-healing abilities. Developed in Japan in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui, Reiki has spread worldwide and is now practised in many hospitals as supportive care. In Switzerland, trained and ASCA/RME-certified Reiki practitioners offer sessions in Geneva, Lausanne, Zurich, Bern, Basel, Fribourg and throughout French and German-speaking Switzerland, in clinics, at home or remotely. Reiki is particularly effective for reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep quality, accompanying chronic pain, providing emotional support during difficult periods (bereavement, separation, illness), recovery after surgery or heavy medical treatment, and overall energy rebalancing. There are several Reiki levels (Shoden, Okuden, Shinpiden) and different lineages (Usui, Karuna, Kundalini Reiki). Reiki does not replace medical treatment but harmoniously complements it. Sessions are partially reimbursed by some supplementary insurance depending on practitioner recognition.

Reiki is a Japanese energy practice meaning 'universal life energy'. The practitioner channels this energy through their hands placed on or above different parts of the body to rebalance energy centres (chakras) and promote deep relaxation, mental clarity and self-healing. It does not involve physical manipulation.
A Reiki session helps reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep quality, soothe physical and emotional tension, accompany healing processes, support during difficult periods (bereavement, illness, life changes) and rebalance overall vital energy.
After a brief discussion about your needs, you lie down fully clothed on a massage table. The practitioner gently places hands on or above different body areas (head, chest, abdomen, back) for a few minutes each. The session typically lasts 45 to 75 minutes. You may feel warmth, tingling or simply deep relaxation.
For stress or sleep issues, 1 to 3 sessions spaced one to two weeks apart often produce significant effects. For deeper or chronic issues, 4 to 6 sessions may be needed. Then maintenance sessions according to your needs (monthly or quarterly).
